Where to Begin

Navigating funeral services can be unfamiliar ground for many individuals, characterized by various processes, associated costs, and products that are often challenging to discuss. Our primary objective is to alleviate any sense of uncertainty by offering transparent information regarding the array of services we provide.

The Arrangement Process

Upon request for service, one of our licensed funeral directors will meet with the authorized legal representative of the deceased to initiate the arrangement process. If the deceased has a will, the “executor” assumes responsibility for arrangements and signing funeral documentation. In the absence of a will, the funeral director, following the “order of priority” under British Columbia’s Cremation Interment and Funeral Services Act, identifies the legal next of kin. Information regarding the deceased’s and family’s wishes, whether for burial or cremation services, is gathered. The funeral director collects essential personal details for the B.C. Vital Statistics Agency, including birth details, healthcare and social insurance numbers, and primary occupation. This information facilitates death registration with Vital Statistics and enables the funeral provider to generate necessary documentation, including the original death certificate.
